May 2026 Reading Wrap-Up

May was one of those wonderful reading months where every book brought something different to the table. From cozy mysteries and historical fiction to fantasy adventures, heartfelt family stories, and laugh-out-loud contemporary fiction, my reading life felt wonderfully varied. I love months like this because they remind me why I enjoy reading across so many genres—there’s always a new world waiting to be discovered.
This month, I escaped to Paris with A Fashionably French Murder by Colleen Cambridge, enjoyed the inspiring historical fiction of A Woman’s Place by Danielle Steel, and found myself completely immersed in fantasy with The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig, Metal Slinger by Rachel Schneider, and Fury Bound by Sable Sorensen. Each fantasy world offered its own unique magic, danger, and unforgettable characters, making them some of the most immersive reads of the month.
On the contemporary side, Purple State by Dana Perino provided a charming blend of romance and political self-discovery, while The Mother-Daughter Book Club by Susan and James Patterson delivered a heartwarming story about family and connection. The Corpse in the Closet by Lucy Score brought plenty of humor and mystery, and Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple was delightfully quirky, funny, and surprisingly touching.
Looking back, May felt like a month filled with adventure, laughter, mystery, and heart. Whether I was solving murders, exploring magical worlds, or spending time with unforgettable characters, every book brought something special to my reading journey. It was the kind of month that reminded me why I always keep a book close by—because you never know which story is going to become your next favorite.

The story was uplifting, emotional, and full of reminders about the importance of connection, communication, and making time for the people who matter most.
